Gandhiji’s statue unveiled at the proposed 4G Ashram of the proposed Gandhian Village Swaraj Pilot Project in Odisha

Buguda, 12/3/25: A statue unveiling program of Mahatma Gandhi, the father of the nation, was held on 12th March on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s Dandi March Day at the proposed 4G Ashram complex in Makrapalli village of Manitara Panchayat under Buguda block of Ganjam district. The program, held under the supervision of the President of the National Women’s Organization, Pune, Smt. Rama Rauta and coordinated by senior journalist Anil Kumar Maharana, was attended by Professor Dr. Kali Charan Rauta, Environmentalist Dr. Satya Tapas, Principal of Manitara Science Higher Secondary School Anup Kumar Panda and Lecturer Dilip Kumar Acharya, who were the guests, and unveiled the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhian social activist Mrs. Rama Rauta said that the first G in the 4G Ashram is Gandhi which stands for Gandhian ideals Truth and non-violence, the second G is Ganga which stands for protection and preservation of all rivers and aquatic life, the third G is Giriraj Himalaya which stands for protection and preservation of all mountains and forests and wild life and the fourth G is Gram Swaraj which stands for transformation our villages into Gandhian Ideal villages. Lecturer Shri Acharya spoke about environmental protection and the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi. Professor Dr. Rauta explained that for Mahatma Gandhi, Truth is the true ultimate goal / meaning of life and non-violence is it means / way, and to realize Truth, to realize God and to realize spiritual ethical perfection mean the same. Any person of any social class and gender servicing society in the best possible way according to one’s abilities with detachment to the fruits of one’s actions making constant efforts to grow spiritually ethically higher and higher towards perfection, as described in The Bhagavad Gita, can realise spiritual ethical perfection. Dr. Satya Tapas explained how the farmland can be naturally fertile and how rainwater can be conserved and used for farming. Anil Kumar Maharana gave the welcome speech, introduced the guests and proposed the vote of thanks. The program was attended by many intellectuals including Samiti members Jayadeb Pradhan, Subash Chandra Samal, Dibakar Samantaray, Trinath Goud, Bansidhar Rout, Simanchal Pradhan, Pitambara Rauta, Ramesh Chandr Sahu, Nilanchal Pradhan, Akshay Kumar Rout, Jayadeb Raut, Sunil Kumar Pradhan, Sushanta Kumar Sahu. Finally, a tree planting program was held. Sairam Rauta, Saikrishna Rauta, Gautam Rauta, Sudhanshu Shekhar Raut, Nilamadhav Raut, Abhilash Maharana, etc. collaborated in the management of the youth group.
