(OSCSC), Ganjam, Chhatrapur. He was apprehended while allegedly carrying ₹3 lakh in unaccounted cash in an interception operation.
According to official sources, the interception took place near NH-16 close to Science College, Chhatrapur, while Sri Munda was en route from his rented residence to Berhampur in his official Bolero vehicle. Upon questioning, he reportedly failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for the source of the cash. Both the money and the vehicle were seized by the Vigilance team.

Sri Munda was later forwarded to the court of the Special Judge, Vigilance, Berhampur.
Simultaneously, Vigilance teams carried out extensive raids at multiple locations linked to the accused, including his rented quarter in Chhatrapur, his residential house in Bhawanipatna, and his office chamber. A three-storeyed building (approx. 5000 sq. ft.) in Bhawanipatna town
A homestead plot in Bhawanipatna town
Around 19 acres of land spread over 10 plots on the outskirts of Bhawanipatna, purchased in 2023
Several vehicles including a Suzuki Ciaz ZXI, two two-wheelers, and one benami two-wheeler registered in the name of a local rice miller
Odisha Vigilance officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing to trace further links and assess the full extent of assets amassed by the officer.
