Odisha Govt Moves to Withdraw Key Salary & Allowance Amendment Bills

Bhubaneswar, March 26: The Secretariat of the Odisha Legislative Assembly has issued a formal notice regarding the proposed withdrawal of several amendment bills related to salaries, allowances, and pensions of legislators and ministers.
As per the communication issued by Assembly Secretary Satyabrata Rout, notice has been received from Mukesh Mahaling expressing his intention to seek leave of the House to withdraw the bills. The withdrawal will take effect if the Assembly grants permission.
The bills proposed for withdrawal include:
The Odisha Legislative Assembly Members’ Salary, Allowances and Pension (Amendment) Bill, 2025
The Odisha Legislative Assembly Speaker’s Salary and Allowances (Amendment) Bill, 2025
The Odisha Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker’s Salary and Allowances (Amendment) Bill, 2025
The Odisha Ministers’ Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Bill, 2025
The notice has been circulated among all members of the Assembly and forwarded to concerned authorities, including the Law Department and Parliamentary Affairs Department, for information and necessary action.
The development signals a possible reconsideration of proposed revisions in pay and benefits for elected representatives and ministers in the state.
