Berhampur, March 26: Police under Nimakhandi Police Station busted an alleged sex racket operating from a rented house in Amarabati Nagar under Bhabinipur area and arrested four persons.
Acting on credible inputs, a raid was conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, during which five persons were found inside the premises. Investigation revealed that the accused had been running illegal immoral trafficking activities for several months.
The arrested include two alleged pimps—one male and one female—and two customers. One woman, identified as a victim, has been rescued and will be rehabilitated.
Police seized mobile phones, cash of Rs 5,000, condoms, liquor bottles, and a motorcycle from the spot.
A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, 1956. Further investigation is in progress.
