Brahmapur,24th Feb 2025: The six-day-long Inter-University Literary and Cultural Competition at Brahmapur University has been successfully celebrated. This event, organized under the initiative of the Odisha Government, was conducted under the direct leadership of the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Professor Geetanjali Das, ensuring its excellent execution.
The celebration featured Professor Ashok Kumar Ganguly, Head of IISER Brahmapur, as the Chief Guest, while Professor Sachidananda Mahanti, former Vice-Chancellor of the Central University of Koraput and University Grants Commission (UGC) Professor, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor of Brahmapur University, Professor Geetanjali Das. Other distinguished personalities present on stage included Professor Sukanta Kumar Tripathi, Chairman of the Postgraduate Council of Brahmapur University.
The Registrar, Shri Sachidananda Nayak, introduced the guests and delivered the welcome address. The editorial readings for the literary competition were conducted by Dr. Samir Bhoi, while for the cultural competition, the editorial readings were presented by Dr. Sarita Das. A daily bulletin, OIUC 2025, prepared by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, was unveiled during the event.
Following this, meritorious students who excelled in various competitions were awarded prizes. Dr. Sarada Prasad Sahu coordinated the stage proceedings, while the Nodal Officer, Dr. Sadananda Nayak, extended his gratitude to all the faculty members and students of the university for their active participation and smooth management of the program.
This state-level competition, hosted by Brahmapur University, saw remarkable performances in various events such as one-act plays, group folk dances, modern dance, Odia oratory, essay writing, and instrumental music performances. Representatives from other participating universities appreciated and congratulated Brahmapur University for its successful organization of the event.
