New Delhi, April 20: The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday announced the results and NTA scores for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2026, Paper 1 (B.E./B.Tech.).
Conducted under the supervision of the Ministry of Education, the JEE (Main) serves as a gateway for admission to premier engineering institutions across the country. The examination was held in two sessions for the academic year 2026–27 — Session 1 in January and Session 2 in April.
According to the official press release, Paper 1 was conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode across multiple shifts. The January session was held in 10 shifts between January 21 and 28, while the April session took place in 9 shifts from April 2 to April 8.
The examination was administered in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Odia, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Assamese, and Urdu, ensuring wider accessibility for candidates nationwide.
The April session (Session 2) witnessed a massive participation, with over 11.10 lakh candidates registering for Paper 1. Of these, approximately 7.56 lakh were male candidates and 3.53 lakh were female candidates. Category-wise data shows that candidates from General, OBC, SC, ST, and EWS categories were represented in significant numbers.
NTA also informed that the exam was conducted at 584 centres across 319 cities, including 15 international locations such as Doha, Dubai, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Washington, reflecting the global outreach of the examination.
The declaration of results marks a crucial step for engineering aspirants, as JEE (Main) scores are used for admissions into NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions, as well as for eligibility to appear in JEE (Advanced).
