34 Children Rescued in Joint Operation at Berhampur Railway Station

Berhampur, April 18: In a significant joint rescue operation conducted at Berhampur railway station, as many as 34 children were rescued by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) in coordination with Childline officials on Saturday.
According to sources, the majority of the rescued children hail from Bihar and West Bengal and were suspected to be engaged in child labour. Acting swiftly, the team intervened and ensured their safe recovery from the station premises.
Following the rescue, all the children were shifted to the Dibyajyoti Open Shelter, where they are being provided immediate care, protection, and counselling. Authorities have initiated further legal procedures, and efforts are underway to verify the identities of the children and trace their families.
Officials reiterated their commitment to combating child labour and trafficking, urging the public to remain vigilant and report any such incidents.
