Hinjilicut-based short film Adamya won three international awards at the REELS International Short Film Festival Awards Ceremony, held on May 17 at the Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad Research Centre, Aurangabad.
Filmmaker Krishna DK received the Best Short Film award, noted writer Simanchal Maharana won Best Script, and Vivek Kumar Dakua was honored as Best Actor for Adamya.
The film highlights the rich folk arts, traditions, and cultural heritage of Ganjam district.
Another recognition went to filmmaker Arun Kumar Maharana, whose socially themed film Paani received the Best Film award.
The ceremony was attended by Gaytri Rohankar, Nitu Koirala, and Runa Laila as chief guests, who presented the awards.
The festival featured participation from over 1,500 films representing 65 countries, including India, the USA, France, Russia, Brazil, Germany, Australia, Canada, South Korea, Spain, and many others.
Adding to the celebration, students of Nrityam Kala Gabeshana Kendra, Hinjilicut, who also acted in Adamya, performed Odissi dance and earned appreciation on the international stage.
