Bhubaneswar,19 June 2026:The Odisha Government has assured full support for the timely implementation of the proposed fourth railway line between Haridaspur Junction and Vizianagaram Junction, with a focus on expediting land acquisition and rehabilitation works.
The assurance was given by Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee during a review meeting with officials of the East Coast Railway (ECoR) to discuss issues related to land acquisition, rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) for the ambitious rail infrastructure project.
During the meeting, the Chief Engineer of East Coast Railway sought the State Government’s assistance in accelerating land acquisition and R&R activities, particularly in Ganjam and Khordha districts, to ensure the smooth execution of the project.
Responding to the request, Dr. Padhee assured the officials of the State Government’s full cooperation in resolving pending issues and facilitating the successful completion of the fourth railway line project, which is expected to enhance rail capacity and improve freight and passenger movement along the busy corridor.
