Berhampur, April 18: A seminar on the theme “Challenges and Future of Print Media in the Digital Era” was successfully organised under the अध्यक्षship of V. Rajendra Raju at the Government ITI Auditorium Hall, Berhampur.
Delivering the welcome address, Orissa Today Editor Abinash Misra highlighted the evolving landscape of journalism and stressed the importance of adapting to digital transformation while preserving the credibility of print media.
The event was attended by several distinguished guests including senior advocate Bhagaban Sahu, Head of the Department of Journalism at Berhampur University Bandita Panda, and other eminent personalities such as Bighneswar Sahu, Shaktidhar Rajguru, senior journalist Jyoti Ranjan Das, and environmentalist Sudhir Rout.
The speakers shared their insights on the challenges faced by print media in the digital age, including declining readership, competition from online platforms, and the need for innovation and credibility. They also discussed the future prospects of print journalism and emphasised maintaining ethical standards.
Journalists Sameer Acharya and Rupesh Panda also participated in the discussion and expressed their views on the changing dynamics of the media industry.
On the occasion, ten distinguished personalities were felicitated for their outstanding contributions in their respective fields. The felicitation recipients included senior journalists Anil Kumar Maharana, Sunil Mohan Patnaik, A. Raja Rao, and Jyoti Ranjan Das; environmentalists Sudhir Rout and Sibaram Panigrahi; educationist Satya Narayan Sahu; entrepreneur Partho Padhi; businessman Kanhu Senapati; and Ranjan Kumar Parida, Principal of Government ITI, Berhampur.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Sanyasi Gouda, District Correspondent of Orissa Today.
