Berhampur, January 4, 2024 – The new conference hall at Berhampur University buzzed with enthusiasm as the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) orchestrated an enlightening workshop on January 4. Dr. Jyostna Sahoo commenced the event with a warm welcome.
The gathering was graced by Prof. Gitanjali Dash, Vice Chancellor of Berhampur University, who emphasized the workshop’s potential to enhance student capacity. Prof. Dash highlighted the transformative impact of NPTEL and SWAYAM courses, offering knowledge and skills propelling students to new heights in this digital era.
Concluding the event, Prof. S. K. Baral, PG Council Chairman of Berhampur University, underscored the workshop’s significance in advancing education. The presence of NPTEL Senior Manager, Siva Sankar Dash from IIT Madras, added a prestigious touch. Dash delved into the extensive course offerings of NPTEL and SWAYAM, detailing fee structures and exam formats. He emphasized the convenience of regular classes via the NPTEL portal, with timely reminders sent to students’ email IDs.
The workshop saw a robust participation of faculties from Berhampur University and its affiliate colleges. A total of 230 individuals registered, with 163 actively engaging in the workshop. The success of the program was attributed to the dedicated efforts of Desul Sudarsan, assistant professor of department of Library and information science and the local chapter coordinator of the pogramme, who played a pivotal role in orchestrating a seamless and impactful event.
This NPTEL workshop not only enriched participants with valuable insights but also fostered a collaborative spirit among educators and students, paving the way for a more digitally adept academic community at Berhampur University.
